Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary therapy which views the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body to help heal the whole person. This encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. The treatment involves using the thumb and fingers to apply pressure on reflex areas on the feet or hands. It improves circulation, reduces pain, soothes tired feet, and encourages overall healing. The treatment is very pleasant, and relaxing.
What to expect
Treatment lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. You’ll be asked questions about past and present health and lifestyle before you take off all footwear and make yourself comfortable on a reclining chair or a treatment couch with your feet raised.
Practitioners begin by examining the general appearance of your feet, noting their shape and condition. They use their thumbs and knuckles on the reflex points in a combination of massage, pressure and pinching, noting areas of pain or tenderness that call for extra attention.
Most people find it relaxing, but occasionally symptoms may worsen before improving, which is said to be a sign that the body’s natural healing processes are removing ‘toxins’.
Metamorphic Technique
This is a tool for personal development and transformation, which promotes wellbeing by healing patterns taken on in the womb. These blocks limit our potential and lead to emotional or behavioral problems, illness, or the feeling of not moving forwards in life. The practice involves a light touch along the reflex of the spinal points on feet hands and head. The Metamorphic Technique is gentle, non invasive, and completely safe. It can be received on its own or can compliment other treatments, whether conventional or alternative. Sessions are relaxing and there is no need to discuss issues or problems. Suitable for children, whose blockages shift very quickly.
What to expect
The recipient removes there shoes and socks and may be sitting or lying down. The practitioner uses a light touch on the spinal reflex points of the feet, hands and head. A session usually lasts an hour. It’s a relaxing and pleasant experience. The number of session you need is entirely up to you. You can go back for ‘top up’ sessions when you feel the need to.
